What is Pi Day?

March 14 (3/14) is Pi Day, a fun and educational celebration of the mathematical constant π (pi)! Pi represents the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, approximately 3.14—which is why we celebrate on March 14!

Pi Day is a great opportunity for students to explore math in a creative and engaging way. Many schools celebrate with exciting activities such as:

🎉 Pi-themed games and puzzles
🥧 Eating and sharing delicious pies
🔢 Memorizing and reciting digits of pi
🌀 Learning about the importance of pi in math and science

This year, Pi Day will also be the day we hold our Multiplication Challenge for 3rd - 5th grade! Students will have the chance to showcase their multiplication skills in a fun and friendly competition.

She shared her new book, The Curious Why. with our first and second graders. Our students had a blast, asked some great questions, and even got to take a copy of the book home... before it hit the shelves!
